What is Futures Bet?

A wager on a long-horizon outcome such as championship winner, season MVP or regular-season win total, placed before or during the season.

Futures lock up capital for weeks or months at a time and pay long prices in exchange. They are popular with recreational bettors but tough markets for value: the books have time to sharpen the prices and most futures markets carry meaningful vig. Closing-line value matters most early in the cycle when the book is least confident.
